Marwar Festival

Marwar Festival is held in Jodhpur in the month of October. The festival is held for two days during the full moon of Sharad Purnima. For 2008, 13th to 14th October, 2008 are the dates of Marwar Festival.

Earlier the Marwar festival was known as the 'Maand Festival'. Maand is a classical style of folk music centered on the romantic lifestyle of Rajasthan's rulers. The festival is organized to showcase the art and culture of the Marwar region. Music and dance of the Marwar region are performed by the folk artistes. Rajasthani folklore forms the theme of the ballads sung by the artistes under the desert sky.

Horse riding and horse polo are just some of the attractions of the festival apart from a Camel tattoo show and camel Polo.
