Nagaur Fair

Nagaur is a picturesque Rajput town that comes alive in the month of January, when the cattle fair is held.

Cows, bullocks, camels and horses are traded briskly. The attractions for tourists are the camel races, Tug-of-War, camel races, cock & bullfights that are immensely entertaining. Apart from these, the cattle owners are seen in their colourful traditional attire and turbans and are ever willing to strike a pose for shutterbugs. Folk music and dance performances as well as stalls of local cuisine provide a great opportunity to understand and experience the region.

This fair is also the location for Mirchi Bazaar (Red Chilly Market), one of the largest of the region. Besides, wooden items, iron crafts and leather accessories may be purchased during the fair.
