Khimsar

Khimsar is a small principality in Nagaur, Rajasthan. Nagaur is famous for its cattle fair. Khimsar has a stunning fort that is a heritage hotel and is an excellent place to stay in luxury and enjoy the Nagaur Fair. The village Khimsar is located about 92 km from Jodhpur and is also close to Bikaner. Endless sand dunes and rugged landscape are the charms of Khimsar apart from the 16th century fort. Due to its location, Khimsar is an excellent getaway by itself and also the right place to stay at and explore the nearby towns of Nagaur, Jodhpur and Bikaner.

Khimsar was founded by Rao Karamsiji, the eighth son of Rao Jodhaji who was the founder of Jodhpur. Khimsar offers a luxurious vacation where you can enjoy a royal lifestyle, have a brush with history, de-stress and rejuvenate. Sand dunes villages, sports and desert safaris by camel, horse or jeep are all available here. Jodhpur has the nearest airport and railway station, from whereon private buses on cars can be used to travel to Khimsar. It takes nearly an hour and a half on the good quality road. Being in the heart of the desert, days are hot while nights are cool.
