Mewar Festival

Mewar festival is celebrated in Udaipur to welcome spring season. Mewar is the earlier name of Udaipur, when this region was a royal estate. Rajasthani folk songs and dances, colourful processions, devotional music and firework displays make this festival a feast for the senses.

While Mewar festival is of a cultural nature, it also coincides with Gangaur Festival, a religious festival celebrated in Rajasthan. The processions in Udaipur inevitably culminate at Lake Pichola.
